Me:

My name is Dean and I live in Belfast. That's in the UK and/or Ireland depending on your political persuasion (it's complicated).

I was however born and bred in England (Hythe to be exact).

These are the ramblings of a professional Software Engineer, mostly about Software Engineering and whatever else takes my fancy.

By day I churn out code for Commscope working primarily on AOSP. We design and build Android powered TV set top boxes and my job is to customize and tweak the Android operating system to run smoothly on our devices and also to incorporate custom behaviour as specified by our clients (usually TV operators). Sometimes we also design and build native Android applications for our clients which get incorporated into our custom Android images.
